Our mission

A home away from home, run by neighbors.

Swiss Club Miami exists to keep Swiss heritage close at hand for the people who care about it — expats raising kids bilingually, retirees who landed here decades ago, professionals visiting on assignment, and friends of Switzerland who simply love the country.

We do this the un-fancy way: monthly Stammtisch, an annual Swiss National Day Celebration, family picnics, and a volunteer-led board that holds the calendar together. No clubhouse, no dues fed into overhead — just the people and the gatherings.

The long story, briefly

Eighty years on the calendar.

  1. 1941

    Founded

A small group of Swiss expatriates gathers in Miami to keep their language, traditions, and friendships alive far from home.

  2. 1960s

First Swiss National Day in Miami

August 1 becomes the club’s signature annual gathering — a tradition that has continued, uninterrupted, for decades.

  3. 1990s

    Stammtisch tradition takes root

Monthly Stammtisch dinners begin rotating across South Florida venues, anchoring the club’s social calendar.

  4. 2010s

    Family programming expands

Picnics, kids’ events, and cultural programming widen the audience to second- and third-generation Swiss-Americans.

  5. Today

    A vibrant 400+ member community

Swiss nationals, Swiss-Americans, and friends of Switzerland gather year-round across Miami and South Florida.

What we stand for

Three things, kept simple.

01

Cultural exchange

Preserving Swiss traditions, language, and culture through events, celebrations, and community activities — from Stammtisch to Swiss National Day.

02

Community first

A welcoming space for Swiss nationals, Swiss-Americans, and friends of Switzerland to connect across generations and build lasting relationships.

03

Quietly enduring

Eighty-plus years in, the club still runs on the same principle: show up for each other, keep traditions alive, welcome the next person at the table.
